MID'S EV-D rate allows customers with EV's to be billed for their electric usage at different prices depending on the time of day. With this time of use rate, customers are encouraged to do more energy intensive activities - such as charging their EV - during off-peak periods when prices are lower. When prices are higher during on-peak hours, customers are encouraged to refrain from energy intensive activities. By maximizing electric usage during off-peak periods, EV customers can lower their monthly electric bills.
